The beginning of this site. I found the hemp cording today at Walmart! Huzzah! I just don't know if I should
use the 'thick' #80 stuff or the 'monster' #170 stuff!?
I already have a corset pattern cut out of muslin, but I want to make the corded one out of linen, so I have
to wait till tomorrow and make a run to Joanne's Fabrics.

I finally dug through my stuff and found a 100% linen skirt with enough fabric for two corsets. I only paid about
a $1 for it at a thrift shop years ago, so I went ahead and used it. I couldn't find anything at Joanne's but linen 'blends'
anyway. It's a natural color, so it works great.
I cut out the fabric, using the pattern I'd made from the online corset pattern generator, I added a little bit
to it, just in case the hemp causes it to 'shrink'. This fabric is BOUNCY...I mean, it is really stretchy and elastic...and
now I'm wondering if I should have just used the pattern as it was. It looks really big, but all I have is the channels and
no hemp yet.
I'm taking a breather, since, even though my neck is doing okay, my back is killing me!
More as I go!

Well, like last year I didn't keep a record of what I made and how...DRAT! I really thought I could be like all
my online costume heroes and document my every move, but alas, it is not to be. I ended up making the above outfit
a week before faire. It's hard to see, but it is a brown wool over dress, lined in a pink linen, with a midnight blue linen
petticoat, muslin shift and linen partlet. The coif is all hand made (the nite before faire!!) with my straw hat over it.
